What is the Health Trainer programme?

The Health Trainer programme is a wellness course that takes place online in the “virtual classroom” via your PC. During the six course sessions, the trainer will teach you all about the health subject of your choice. The connection via your phone is free and you can communicate with the trainer and others taking part in the course.

How do I enrol for the Health Trainer programme?

You can only enrol here online. This is where you will find a list of our online training courses and you can enrol quite easily in just a few clicks. Take a look at our list of courses and enrol there directly.


Who can enrol for the Health Trainer programme?

All BIG policyholders over the age of 18 can enrol for the Health Trainer programme.


Will I incur any expenses?

No, the Health Trainer programme is free for BIG policyholders.


How many times can I take part in the Health Trainer programme?

Courses are offered in the areas of exercise, diet, use of stimulants and stress management. You can take part in two courses from each area per calendar year. Since January 2011, statutory health insurance funds are no longer allowed to subsidise identical courses that are repeated in the following year, but only in the year after that, due to a change in the law.


Can I take part in subsidised courses for health promotion as well as in the Health Trainer programme?

Yes, you can take part in a course for health promotion, which is subsidised by BIG with 90 euro, as well as a course in the Health Trainer programme. In total BIG is allowed to subsidise only two courses. Since January 2011, statutory health insurance funds are no longer allowed to subsidise identical courses that are repeated in the following year, but only in the year after that, due to a change in the law.


Can I take part in the Health Trainer programme, if I have taken part in a course for health promotion?

Yes, you can attend a course from the Health Trainer programme and one other health promotion course. BIG supports you in a total of two courses.


What happens once I have chosen a class?

You will be sent confirmation of enrolment by e-mail. At the start of the course, we’ll send you an invitation by e-mail that contains a link for logging on.


I have enrolled but I haven’t received a confirmation by e-mail.

Please check your spam mail folder. Some e-mail providers class the e-mails as spam and move them into a special folder. Please note that some spam folders have default settings and unwanted email is moved there. So check the settings for your spam folder. If there is no e-mail confirmation there either, please contact us.


How can I cancel my participation in a course, for which I enrolled?

Please simply let us know using our contact form, write us an e-mail or a fax or call us directly. It is possible to cancel without charge up to one week before the start of the course. Please remember that enrolment is binding. If you aren’t sure whether you’ll be able to take part every week at the same time, please leave the limited number of places for other participants.


How do I obtain the course documents if I miss a session?

Talk to your trainer about it at the next course session. Upon request you can be sent the documents by e-mail.


What happens if I am ill or my job prevents me from attending one of the course sessions?

Please send an e-mail to your trainer at anfrage-big@dbbt.de and let them know on which date you are unable to attend.


When will new/further dates for courses be publicised?

New courses are constantly being offered. You’ll find them in our list of courses.

Will I be sent confirmation of participation?

If you take part in at least four course sessions, you can obtain a confirmation of participation upon request.


What does successful participation mean?

You have taken part in at least four of six sessions.


What are the technical requirements for me to take part in the webinar?

You can take part in our Health Trainer programme if you have a computer with access to the Internet. Your operating system and your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox) should not be more than than five years old.


I’ve erased the e-mail with the invitation and login details.

Please send us an e-mail as soon as possible to anfrage-big@dbbt.de. We will then send you new login details.


An invitation e-mail should be sent 48 hours prior to the start of the course as a reminder. I haven’t received it.

My computer crashed during the session.

Reboot your computer and click the link in the invitation e-mail again. Log on again.


I’ve closed the browser window by mistake.

Click the link in the invitation e-mail again. Log on again to the webinar.


I keep getting audio interference and echoing during the webinar.

Make sure your telephone loudspeaker is switched off. If you use a headset, please make sure that any other microphones (e.g. internal laptop microphone) are disabled.


Is there a hotline during seminar hours?

We can answer your questions during the first two sessions of the webinars at the phone number 0170.6964079. Please use our contact form on the website outside course hours.


Do BIGtionär account holders get points for taking part in the Health Trainer programme?

BIGtionär account holders will receive 500 points per course credited to their BIGtionär points account for successful participation in a maximum of two courses in the Health Trainer programme.


How are the points credited to the BIGtionär points account?

The points are automatically credited around three weeks after the course has finished. There is no need for special proof.
