Treatment of periodontitis – for healthy gums
Healthy teeth start with healthy gums. Inflammation caused by bacteria can damage all the tissues and structures that support the teeth. Then the gums, cementum, alveolus (or tooth socket) and periodontal ligament are affected.

Contract scheme with the Westfalen-Lippe Association for Sick Fund Dentists (Kassenzahnärztliche Vereinigung)
Only policyholders from the Westfalen-Lippe region can take part in our extended programme for treatment of periodontitis, since BIG has arranged for a corresponding contract scheme with the Westfalen-Lippe Association for Sick Fund Dentists (KZV WL). Any dentists with a specialism in periodontology may carry out treatment of periodontitis, if they have been licensed and authorised by the Westfalen-Lippe Association for Sick Fund Dentists (KZV WL). They must also have joined the contract scheme between BIG and the Association.
